An unusal presentation of mature ovarian teratoma in a young girl: A rare case report

Introduction: Solid teratomas are relatively more common in infants and children (accounting for 15% of ovarian tumor). Though the peak age incidence is at second decade [1]. Metastatic implantation glial tissue on surfaces visceral or parietal peritoneum called as Gliomatosis peritonei (GP) its occurrence very rare.Case Report: A 10 year old girl presented with complaints vague abdominal pain discomfort two months. Ultrasonography abdomen showed a heterogenous solid cystic tumor 12 X 15 x cm noted left side ovary adherent to fallopian tube. Left salpingoopherectomy was done histopathology show features mature teratoma peritonei.Conclusion: peritoneum. It often associated any grade. This always present massive peritoneal implantation, optimal resection difficult. Although residual disease can be totally quiescent over long period, long-term follow-up needed patients disease. conservative surgical approach may carried out spread.
